Monique Fink is a classically trained cellist. She began her studies at an early age of four with the Suzuki Method at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Upon graduating from High School in 1999, she continued her passion for music at Douglas College in New Westminster, B.C. Shortly after she transferred to the University of Victoria where she obtained her Bachelor of Music Degree in 2005. She has played in various orchestras over the years. Just recently Monique has entered the fiddle scene picking up the violin in 2008. In February 2009, Monique was asked to record a song, "Sirens" for Pauline Edwards Cd "There Comes a Time" which was released in April, 2009. (www.paulineedwards.com) Upon finishing up that track Monique began working on her own Cd, "Inspirations" which was released as of July 1, 2009! This Cd features works from J.S. Bach Cello Suite, some celtic tunes as well as some of her own works. During the summer months, Monique can be seen on the streets of Victoria where she busks on Government Street as well as the Inner Harbour. Monique now resides in Victoria, B.C. where she enjoys teaching cello to people of all ages, beginner through advanced levels. News [10.20.09] Great news cellists! I've got a couple of reels and a jig up so far that I've composed. The music for the two reels aren't written out yet (since I just composed them yesterday!)but will be soon! I am now offering some exciting new cello classes at the Long & McQaude Music Education Center which will be starting up next Monday night with ensemble classes, September 21st! There will be two levels of ensemble classes, beginner (book 1-2 suzuki) and a more advanced cello quartet ensemble class!. Also starting up next week are my Celtic cello classes! Both of these classes will be offered Saturday Mornings and the first class will be on Saturday, September 21st.
